The Chimei Museum will undergo annual maintenance from November 23 to 30 and will be temporarily closed to the public. Although the museum will be closed, the Tainan Metropolitan Park area will remain open. Additionally, the current special exhibition “My Dream • Your Dream • Our Dream – The Story of Chimei Museum” will be extended until November 1.

The current special exhibition “My Dream • Your Dream • Our Dream – The Story of Chimei Museum” presents the story behind the founding of Chimei Museum. A magical visit to a museum by a 7-year-old boy inspired the creation of Chimei Museum. After achieving success in his business, Mr. Wen-long Hsu launched his museum project, gathering professionals from various museum-related fields, and established Chimei Museum within the Chimei Ren De Factory in 1992. It was open to the public free of charge for twenty-one years, attracting tens of millions of visitors.

The current Chimei Museum in Tainan Metropolitan Park is the result of a collaboration between Tainan City Government and Chimei to realize the dream of a museum for all. This story began with a dream and has gradually come to fruition. At 87 years old, Wen-long Hsu used his personal cultural vision to inspire the entire Chimei team to pursue that dream steadfastly. Together, they built a museum that exceeded initial expectations and fulfilled the hopes of many.
