Every autumn, maple leaf viewing becomes one of the hottest travel topics. Aside from Japan, South Korea also boasts stunning fall foliage, with many famous maple-viewing spots. If you find traveling to other cities or regions for maple leaves inconvenient, there are actually plenty of places within Seoul city where you can enjoy the beautiful autumn reds.

● Samcheong-dong Road

A must-visit in Korea, Samcheong-dong Road lets visitors stroll along the stone walls of ancient palaces. The road is lined with quaint and elegant galleries, as well as shops selling beautiful clothing, decorations, paintings, and more. It’s also accompanied by vibrant golden ginkgo trees on both sides, allowing you to fully enjoy a leisurely autumn experience.

● Seoul Grand Park Forest Bathing Zone

The Seoul Grand Park Forest Bathing Zone features walking trails made up of uphill and downhill paths, accessible through two entrances: behind the Children’s Zoo and Forest Exhibition Hall, and near the Australia Pavilion. Both entrances connect to the main zoo gate. Centered around the zoo, the area is divided into five zones including acacia woods, chestnut woods, and pine forests. The rich variety of trees immerses you in beautiful natural scenery.

● Deoksugung Stone Wall Path

Also known as Jeongdong-gil, Deoksugung Stone Wall Path is a famous spot beloved by Korean couples for dates. Visitors can walk along the stone wall path next to Deoksugung Palace, opposite Seoul City Hall, all the way to Jeongdong Theater. This 900-meter-long trail is especially beautiful in autumn when the ginkgo trees on both sides turn golden. Along the way, in the courtyard of the Seoul Museum of Art, there's a 500-year-old maple tree that offers a magnificent view of autumn reds. The courtyard is perfect for sitting and enjoying the warm sun—quiet and peaceful.

● Namsan Circular Hiking Trail

Starting from the Namsan Library, you can walk up along the hiking path to reach N Seoul Tower, one of Seoul’s famous attractions. The observation deck, made entirely of glass, offers different views of Seoul depending on the direction you face. Additionally, the night view here is very famous. Consider visiting the observation deck café in the evening for a coffee while leisurely enjoying the Seoul night skyline.
