Taiwan High Speed Rail’s three new stations—Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin—are scheduled to open on December 1. In addition to a comprehensive timetable adjustment, THSR has announced ticket prices from Taipei to Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin, which are NT$430, NT$820, and NT$930 respectively. Additionally, starting in December, fares will be reduced back to pre-increase levels. For example, the standard class reserved seat fare for Taipei–Zuoying will be lowered from the current NT$1,630 to NT$1,490. Passengers can start pre-ordering tickets for all services on the new timetable from December 1 (inclusive) as of midnight on November 4.

THSR stated that starting December 1, the number of stations will increase from 8 to 11, and the total number of weekly services will rise from the current 954 to 964. Based on varying travel demands during peak and off-peak hours, mornings, evenings, and commuting periods, three types of stopping patterns have been planned:“Non-stop Express”(Taipei–Zuoying travel time remains 96 minutes, with 2 services per hour during peak times and 1 per hour during off-peak),“Jump Station Train”(including the existing 8-station model, with 2 services per hour during peak times and 1 per hour during off-peak), and“All-Stop Train”(with at least 1 service per hour), meeting the needs of short-, medium-, and long-distance travelers.
Additionally, after the three new stations—Miaoli, Changhua, and Yunlin—join full operations, one northbound and one southbound service per hour will be provided(taking Taipei Station as an example, average travel times to the new stations are approximately: Miaoli Station around 49 minutes, Changhua Station around 80 minutes, and Yunlin Station around 92 minutes). Some periods will even offer two services per hour (with average travel times to Taipei Station being approximately: Miaoli Station around 46 minutes, Changhua Station around 60 minutes, and Yunlin Station around 72 minutes), not only improving transportation convenience but also saving time.

THSR stated that since the addition of the three new stations will result in longer travel times for passengers commuting between Chiayi, Tainan, and Taipei,a number of additional jump station trains will be added during certain periods after the schedule change, stopping only at Taipei (Banqiao)–Taichung–Chiayi–Tainan–Zuoying. The average travel time from Taipei Station to Chiayi Station will be about 76 minutes, and to Tainan Station about 94 minutes, both shorter than current times.
Furthermore, the new timetable also specifically caters to the needs of southern passengers heading early to Taoyuan Airport or traveling north for meetings or business. The first “All-Stop Train” northbound from Zuoying Station will depart at 6:18 a.m. daily. Meanwhile, passengers from Zuoying, Tainan, and Chiayi traveling northbound can also choose the “Jump Station Train” departing from Zuoying Station at 6:24 a.m., arriving at Taoyuan up to 22 minutes earlier and at Taipei 6 minutes earlier than before.
※ Starting at midnight on November 4 (Wednesday), passengers can purchase tickets for all services on the new December 1 (inclusive) timetable via convenience stores, online booking, the “T Express” mobile app, voice reservation systems, or at ticket windows and self-service kiosks during operating hours at each station.
※ Additionally, to welcome the opening of the three new stations, THSR has specially arranged for the unpaid areas of the three stations to be open to the public daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (including holidays) from November 4 to November 29. Visits to the paid gate areas and platforms are also available, but must be booked in “group entry and exit” format. Each of the three stations will have dedicated staff providing guided tours. During the aforementioned opening hours, four time slots are available daily at 9:30, 11:00, 14:00, and 15:30. Applications for reservations can be made with the THSR customer service center starting now.
