As 2015 came to a close, Universal Studios Japan in Osaka held a special New Year's event from 7:00 PM on December 31, 2015, to 2:00 AM on January 1, 2016, titled the 'Universal New Year's Party 2016.' The event also offered a limited-time package for the seven-hour celebration, along with a 'Party Admission Ticket' that provided access for 26 hours until 9:00 PM on January 1, priced at 11,800 yen (tax included), which is now on sale.

On December 31, the annual "all-night opening" night will welcome visitors coming to celebrate the new year. Guests can fully enjoy the immensely popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which will offer a one-day-only "all-night operation." This year’s upgraded 3D ride, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, along with the spectacular Hogwarts Castle towering under the night sky, will bring movie scenes to life in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter area. In addition, other top attractions such as the wildly popular 'Spider-Man The Ride 4K3D' and the world-class quality roller coaster 'Hollywood Dream – The Ride' will be available for unlimited rides all night long, keeping the park atmosphere at its most exhilarating.

In addition, there will be a 'Countdown Moment' to push the excitement of the 'Universal New Year's Party 2016' to its peak. As the new year arrives, a spectacular fireworks display will light up the night sky along with dynamic light and sound effects. During this limited special performance, everyone can come together to celebrate this extraordinary day. Guests can also enjoy the thrill of limited-ride and popular attractions, witness the countdown moment, and experience special performances including the most magnificent fireworks show in the park’s history, ringing in the new year in an electrifying and unforgettable atmosphere.
