China’s first and the first Hello Kitty theme park outside Japan (Hello Kitty Park) officially opened in 2015. As the first large-scale outdoor Hello Kitty park overseas, Anji Kitty Park covers a larger area than the other two parks and integrates top-tier creativity, planning, and design from China, Japan, the United States, and Europe. Over 95% of the rides in the park are imported from abroad. The park is divided into six themed areas: Friendship Square, Happy Harbor, Sound Village, Spirit Forest, Steam Kingdom, and Kitty’s House. Each area features themed characters and live performances, and it also houses Asia’s only coaster-style Ferris wheel built on a 9-meter-high structure.

After three years of preparation, Malaysia’s Genting Highlands Resort, in collaboration with the renowned film company 20th Century Fox, is launching a movie-themed park set to open in 2016. The park will feature many classic film-themed scenes, including “Ice Age,” “Rio,” “Alien,” and “Life of Pi,” which are highly anticipated.

The globally popular Hunger Games film franchise is now reportedly getting its own themed park in Dubai, set to open in October 2016. The park will showcase 27 scenic attractions, taking visitors on an immersive journey into the thrilling world of the movies.
