The 2015 Happy Bear Urban Carnival is here ! This year’s theme is “Love & Share,” combining elements of culture, green living, and technology. It will first be held from December 12 to January 14 next year at Taichung Park and its surrounding alleys, featuring hundreds of bears, followed by an exhibition from January 16 to February 18 at the Shilin Official Residence in Taipei, making it the first-ever dual-city joint exhibition. Everyone is invited to come and experience the cuteness of the teddy bears as well as the historical and cultural charm of Taichung Park’s old town district.

This year’s Teddy Bear Carnival is themed “Love & Share,” symbolizing that teddy bears can serve as confidants during times of sadness and bring happiness to people, sharing love. The large-scale Happy Bear installation art this year not only incorporates brand elements from various sectors but also invites senior local painter Sun Shao-ying and the Japanese Nara-based design team amanojack design to personally paint the bears. The goal is to spark diverse creative sparks through cross-cultural exchange.

This event has added Beacon IoT micro-location technology. Visitors can download a designated app on their mobile devices and, through Bluetooth detection and scanning the QR codes on the bears, discover various brand styles. In addition, the event will host the “2015 Q-Version Happy Bear Creative Submission Contest,” allowing everyone to create their own unique Happy Bears by painting or collaging blank white bear figurines. The Taichung City Government invites everyone to come to Taichung Park to enjoy the teddy bears while also learning about the history, culture, and architectural textures of the city’s old town district. Partner shops in the central district will also periodically host folk music performances, guided tours, and other activities, creating lasting memories through interactive experiences and exchanges.
