The American Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel has obtained a U.S. trademark patent, making it the world’s first underwater hotel.

The American Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel will be located 8 to 9 meters underwater. Guests can travel between the water surface and the hotel space via a sealed elevator reminiscent of a sci-fi movie. The hotel features a total of 12 rooms with large glass areas, allowing all guests to enjoy uninterrupted views of the underwater scenery. What makes the Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel particularly unique is that it is not a fixed structure but rather a movable “building,” hence it is categorized as a “ship.” As a result, in the event of natural disasters such as typhoons, it can be moved to a safer location.

The Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel has identified several dive-friendly locations as potential bases, including Hawaii, Malaysia, Egypt, and the Bahamas. The construction project is currently seeking investment buyers, with the 12 suites estimated to cost around £13 million.
