The Opening of Three Major Outlets Sparks a Shopping Frenzy

As 2016 arrives, three well-known Outlet brands have successively opened in Taiwan, with hundreds of international luxury brands and many popular Japanese restaurants moving in to create a shopping boom. Each of the three malls has its own unique features — aside from being home to the first American-style open-air Outlet mall, there will also be the second-largest Ferris wheel in Asia, which is highly anticipated.

● Huatai Boutique City GLORIA OUTLETS
Huatai Boutique City officially opened on December 18. The mall is located in Qingpu, Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, about a 45-minute drive from downtown Taipei, adjacent to the Taoyuan HSR Station and the Airport MRT, offering very convenient transportation. It is Taiwan’s first internationally leveled open-air leisure shopping village combined with garden landscaping as a boutique Outlet.

Huatai Boutique City has a total of four phases. The first phase, covering a 6,000-ping exhibition space, has introduced 102 brands, including Armani, Hugo Boss, Jimmy Choo, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tod's, Salvatore Ferragamo... among others, with an average discount of up to 35% off. In addition, 24 brands are making their first appearance in a Taiwanese Outlet. According to plan, the second phase of Huatai Boutique City is expected to open in autumn 2016, with the third and fourth phases opening in 2018 and 2019 respectively. By then, a total of 260 luxury brands will be stationed here, along with facilities such as a cinema, cafes, and high-end restaurants.

● Mitsui OUTLET PARK Linkou
The well-known Japanese Outlet brand “Mitsui Outlet” is scheduled to officially open in Linkou on January 27, 2016. Adjacent to the Taoyuan Airport MRT, the mall covers an area of approximately 20,000 pings and is designed with the concept of a foreign resort, aiming to offer consumers a taste of an exotic vacation. It is expected to introduce 220 brands, including multiple international luxury brands (such as Versace, ARMANI OUTLET, a. testoni, MaxMara, Michael Kors, ETRO... among others); Japanese fashion brands (such as BEANS, earth, snide, UNITED ARROWS, URBAN RESEARCH... among others); as well as sportswear brands (such as NIKE factory store, adidas, puma, NEW BALANCE, under armour, The North Face... among others). Additionally, 13 restaurant brands will be stationed, several of which are making their first entry into Taiwan.
