Formerly known as Gallery Hotel, the new Singapore InterContinental Robertson Quay is expected to open in Q2 2017. Rooms from September 2017 onward can be booked now, and it will become the newest luxury hotel under the InterContinental brand in Singapore. Located by the Singapore River and just a 5-minute drive from Clarke Quay, the property will feature 40 new restaurants, cafes, and bars, along with 225 guest rooms, a club lounge, swimming pool, meeting rooms, and lounges, all in understated, elegant tones.

2. Taipei, S HOTEL
Slated to officially open in April 2017, this hotel is named after Big S (Taiwan celebrity) by her husband, Wang Xiaofei. Located at the intersection of Dunhua North Road and Changchun Road, the hotel adopts a trendy boutique design with a literary and artistic vibe. Designed by renowned French designer Philippe Starck, it blends modern and bohemian styles. He chose white as the main color scheme for the rooms, using various textures of white — from cotton bedding and leather sofas to marble tables — to create an airy yet refined spatial feel.

3. Beijing, Bulgari Hotel and Resort
Following openings in Milan, London, Dubai, and Shanghai, Beijing will welcome its own Bulgari Hotel in 2017. Situated in the heart of Beijing’s exclusive embassy district, the hotel backs onto a vibrant urban landscape and faces the Liangma River, neighboring the fashionable Sanlitun area. With 120 rooms and suites, an iconic bar, a private garden, a 25-meter-long spa, and a ballroom, the property continues Bulgari’s signature elegant and luxurious Italian style, offering guests an immersive taste of contemporary Italian lifestyle.

4. Beijing, MUJI Hotel
Expected to open in the second half of 2017, the MUJI Hotel will be located in “Beijing Fun,” southwest of Tiananmen Square, within the historic Dashilan cultural block that spans 600 years. In addition to 41 Japanese-style rooms infused with MUJI aesthetics, the property will include a cafe, bookstore, lounge, and bar. From guest rooms to communal spaces, every item reflects MUJI’s signature design — including comfortable cotton-linen bedding and toiletries on the washbasin, all in familiar MUJI color palettes.

5. Shanghai, Amanfayun
Privacy and minimalist art are the hallmarks of Aman, and the Shanghai Amanfayun is set to be the largest Aman property in the world. Scheduled for completion in June 2017 and opening in the fall, the resort was designed by Australian architect Kerry Hill. Utilizing the natural vegetation and relatively undeveloped landscape of Maqiao, it revitalizes 32 ancient Ming and Qing Huizhou-style houses and gardens, meticulously crafting a serene, understated Huizhou-style ancient town. The interiors feature wooden furnishings and structures adorned with antique ornaments, creating a secluded haven embracing both nature and culture.

6. Shanghai Tianmashan Shimao Deep Pit Hotel
Dubbed “the lowest-altitude hotel in the world,” this property is tucked away within the former Shanghai Songjiang National Scenic Area and is the first-ever five-star hotel built 80 meters deep into the ground. Crafted by the same team behind Dubai’s Burj Al Arab, this ultra-luxurious resort features 19 floors with 370 guest rooms, divided into above-ground and underground sections. It boasts modern architectural highlights such as a massive natural landscape waterfall, a scenic presidential suite, an indoor garden, and underwater-themed rooms. All guest rooms are designed with terraced corridors and balconies functioning as sky gardens, offering close-up views of the 100-meter waterfall opposite and the surrounding mountain landscape. The hotel is expected to begin trial operations by the end of the year.

The top-tier luxury resort brand One&Only will open in Sanya, Hainan in May 2017. Nestled in a secluded spot on Tufu Bay, the resort offers a 380-meter private coastline and a vast 11-hectare coconut grove, creating the feeling of being in a giant water garden. The landscape design incorporates elements of Hainan’s natural environment, with themes based on flora, fauna, and water features. Rooms are categorized into private villas, presidential suites, and executive suites, all located within the main estate villas, delivering an unprecedented level of luxury accommodation.

8. Dubai Bulgari Hotel & Resort
Bulgari Hotel is also set to make its debut in Dubai in 2017. For those seeking ultra-luxury and high-end sophistication, this new hotel in Dubai will be truly breathtaking. Situated along the shoreline of Jumeirah Bay Island, the hotel is designed in the shape of a massive seahorse. This luxurious 1.7 million square-foot seaside complex will be framed by lush landscaping and will include 100 guest rooms and suites, 20 residential villas, and a marina.
