Kyushu Muffin was introduced to Taiwan on January 27, 2015, with its first flagship store opening on Fujin Street, quickly winning the love and support of consumers. On December 27, its second branch — Songshan Store — opened in grand style next to the culturally rich Taipei Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. It also launched a brand-new “Taiwan-exclusive” Kyoto Uji matcha menu, along with a range of brand-style merchandise available only at the Songshan Store. These new offerings are set to inject fresh energy and vibrancy into Kyushu Muffin’s presence in Taiwan.

Located in one of Taipei’s prime afternoon tea districts, the opening of Kyushu Muffin Songshan Store saw the attendance of multiple partners from both Taiwan and Japan. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was jointly conducted by Kyushu Muffin founder and President Murakami Koji, Japanese partners Izumikawa Dai and Suzuki Takahiro, Taiwan General Manager Tsai Jingming, Taiwanese partners Jiang Shouren and Chen Jianzhi. The event marked the official launch of the Songshan Store. Additionally, two Japanese chefs — Yamashita Hirokazu and Kuwau Q Noriyoshi — were specially invited to bring over the meticulous craftsmanship and work ethic of Japanese culinary enterprises.

Kyushu Muffin Songshan Store inherits the warm, Japanese-style ambiance of the first branch. The spacious and cozy elongated space features a ceiling adorned with frosted glass lattice skylights. Under the glow of warm-toned lighting, it feels as if natural sunlight is streaming down from above. The space also makes extensive use of modern metallic square and hanging light fixtures, creating a more contemporary interplay of light and shadow. The interior is constructed with natural materials such as solid wood and stone bricks, and through the clever mix of colors and textures, it offers an open and airy visual effect, delivering a warm and comfortable dining atmosphere.

All “Kyushu Muffin Powder” is made from carefully selected ingredients sourced exclusively from Kyushu, Japan. In addition to the classic seven-grain plain muffin mix, the store also offers a “Kyushu Classic Milk Muffin Mix” made with the rare Kyushu buttermilk powder, a “Kyushu Fresh Vegetable Muffin Mix” crafted from five types of dried vegetables, and a “Kyushu Satsuma Sweet Potato Muffin Mix” with added dried sweet potato powder — four flavors in total that enhance texture and taste. We emphasize the absence of emulsifiers, artificial flavors, processed starches, and aluminum-based leavening agents. The seven grains provide the muffins with a soft, chewy, and springy texture.

Kyushu Muffin Songshan Store has launched several new products, including Taiwan-Exclusive Kyoto Uji Matcha menu items and a thoughtfully blended “Nut, Sesame & Soy Milk Drink.” The Taiwan-exclusive “Kyushu Matcha Tiramisu Muffin” layers seven-grain plain muffin with Uji matcha filling, topped with a specially made smooth tiramisu, and finished with a dusting of snow-like, rich matcha powder. Paired with Kyushu Muffin’s refined matcha syrup, it delivers a vivid contrast of visuals and flavors. Additionally, the “Kyushu Matcha Mont Blanc” features a visual concept inspired by Mont Blanc, with layers of matcha and chestnut whipped cream artistically piped onto a plain muffin base — offering a delightful treat from tongue to taste buds.
