You don’t need to travel abroad to enjoy New Year’s Eve — Tainan City Government is gearing up for 2016 and has once again joined forces with the Yunlin–Chiayi–Tainan and Siraya National Scenic Areas to launch the “New Year’s Eve Trilogy,” inviting everyone to plan a special end-of-year trip on the last day of 2015. The itinerary includes watching the sunset at Beimen Salt Fields, attending the Tainan High-Speed Rail Station New Year’s Eve Party at night, and then heading to Erliau for the first sunrise of 2016 and joining the New Year’s Day hiking event at Hutoupi Reservoir. This allows you to celebrate from evening through early morning and joyfully welcome the new year.

The trilogy kicks off at the Beimen Jingzijiao Tile-Pond Salt Fields, where you can bid farewell to Taiwan’s last sunset of 2015. It's a moment to express gratitude for the past year and offer heartfelt wishes for the future. As the setting sun casts its glow over the mosaic-like tile-pond salt fields, it creates a stunning, almost artistic landscape that is truly breathtaking. Next, head to the square in front of Tainan High-Speed Rail Station to join the lively “2016 Tainan Heart Era” New Year’s Eve Party. With joy and excitement, count down to the end of 2015 and cheerfully embrace the arrival of 2016. Finally, make your way to Zuozhen Erliau, the lowest-altitude sunrise and sea of clouds viewing spot in Taiwan, to welcome the very first light of 2016.
