Known as Japan’s largest winter light festival, the Meihana no Sato Winter Illumination in Nagashima, Mie Prefecture, runs from October 24, 2015, to May 8, 2016. This winter light event collaborates with the famous cartoon “Anne of Green Gables” to recreate the four seasons and day-and-night scenery of the Alps using countless LED lights, evoking childhood memories. In addition, displays such as water light shows and the Light Corridor are featured, offering a romantic night filled with a magical atmosphere.

Meihana no Sato is a large outdoor park themed around seasonal flowers and plants, known for having Japan’s largest “Flower Plaza.” A wide variety of flowers bloom here throughout the year. During the winter light display period, different light installations interpret the beauty of nature. In addition to the “Anne of Green Gables” themed light area, popular displays from previous years such as the Light Corridor, water light shows, and Light Cloud Sea are also back, with the addition of the Blue World—ensuring every visitor can experience the wondrous world of Japan’s largest light festival.
