The High Heel Church Looks Even More Stunning from Multiple Angles – Aerial Photos Revealed

The much-anticipated new attraction in Chiayi, the High Heel Church, is expected to open in early February 2016 and is projected to become a major tourist hotspot during this year’s Lunar New Year holiday. To give fans an early preview, the “Yunlin, Chiayi & Tainan – So Much Fun!!!” (Yunlin, Chiayi & Tainan Coastal Scenic Area) Facebook fan page also released multi-angle photos of the High Heel Church on the 18th, offering a sneak peek at the charm of this new landmark.

The 17-meter-tall High Heel Church is located in Budai Seaview Park, Chiayi. With no other buildings nearby, it is highly eye-catching. It recently even made it onto the British media outlet Daily Mail, becoming a new highlight of Taiwan. Standing 17 meters high and about 11 meters wide, the main structure consists of 1,269 steel frames, with approximately 320 pieces of glass forming its exterior. The striking design cost 23.17 million NTD and was inspired by women from Chiayi’s Beimen area who suffered from blackfoot disease and dreamed of wearing high heels. Currently, construction has been delayed due to continuous heavy rain, but workers are pushing to finish on time so it can welcome visitors before Lunar New Year.
