Fans of matcha, take note: Tokyo’s “DiverCity Tokyo Plaza” hosted a grand matcha event, the “Matcha Food Festival,” from February 1 to 14, which includes the Lunar New Year holiday. During the event, all 12 restaurants in the plaza will offer matcha-themed exclusive desserts. Among the most eye-catching are the “Hello Kitty Matcha Checkerboard Waffle Sundae” and “Matcha Latte with Matcha Checkerboard Waffle Sundae” from “Café de Miki with Hello Kitty.” This series of limited-edition matcha sweets is highly anticipated.

During the Matcha Food Festival, DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Tokyo’s Odaiba district invited 12 restaurants to offer limited-time matcha desserts. These include “GUNDAM Café,” which introduced the “Matcha Anmitsu-style GUNPLA Yakisoba DX,” combining matcha cream with a traditional Japanese anmitsu flavor. “Café de Miki with Hello Kitty” served the super-cute Hello Kitty “Matcha Checkerboard Waffle Sundae” and “Matcha Latte (hot/cold) with Matcha Checkerboard Waffle Sundae.” “Hug French Toast Baking Factory,” a specialty French toast shop, also launched a “Matcha Chocolate Fondue” dish, featuring warm matcha chocolate as a base with seven different ingredients to dip and enjoy for a delightful culinary experience.

In addition, during the event, DiverCity Tokyo in Odaiba also held activities such as “Cherry Blossoms Early Bloom Photo Opportunity” and “Matsuri (Festival) Event,” allowing visitors to enjoy authentic Japanese cultural experiences while savoring matcha treats and shopping.
