This year’s Spring Festival holiday lasts nine days, and many people are planning to travel abroad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has highlighted six key reminders, urging everyone to pay special attention and make the necessary preparations before departure to avoid any disappointing experiences.

● Confirm the visa and entry requirements of the country you plan to visit. Even for countries that offer visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival for our citizens, you must ensure all relevant travel documentation is in order, including hotel reservation records, contact information for local friends or relatives, and your travel itinerary.
● It is recommended to complete the “Overseas Travel Registration” on the Bureau of Consular Affairs website. In the event of a major disaster or other emergencies, overseas missions can use this information to promptly contact you or your loved ones and provide necessary assistance.
● Since medical expenses abroad are generally much higher than in Taiwan, it is advisable to purchase suitable travel insurance before departure to prepare for any unforeseen circumstances.
● Be sure to check in advance whether your passport is valid for at least six months. If not, apply for a renewal or replacement as early as possible.
● It is recommended to follow the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ official LINE@ account (@boca.tw) to receive the latest travel advisories from abroad.
● Download the “Overseas Travel Assistance Guide” app to access important overseas travel-related information anytime.
