First up is Xinyi District, beloved by both domestic and international tourists and the most conveniently accessible.Xiangshan Hiking TrailStarting from the Lingyun Temple trailhead and ascending via stone steps, you’ll pass scenic spots like the Photographer’s Platform, Six Giant Rocks, and the Photography Platform. In Shilin District, there’s thePingding Ancient Canal Hiking Trail, which features undulating terrain as you pass through Dengfeng Canal, Pingding New Canal, and Pingding Ancient Canal. The ancient canal meanders along the quiet trail, accompanied by the soothing sound of flowing water in the serene mountain forest—offering a truly relaxing experience.Pingding Ancient Canal Hiking TrailThe trail is 1,330 meters long, takes about 2 hours to complete, and burns around 1,460 calories. Alternatively, you can head to Neihu District’sJinmian Mountain Hiking Trail, where the path mostly consists of natural, rustic sandstone steps, rock walls, sleepers, or dirt paths.
