The most enchanting and beautiful bookstore, Zhongshu Pavilion’s new branch, has opened.

Shanghai’s Thames Town, with its environment full of British charm that makes visitors feel as if they are strolling through Europe, is a popular spot for many Chinese to take wedding photos. In 2013, Shanghai’s most beautiful bookstore, “Zhongshu Pavilion,” opened here, incorporating elements from both Chinese and Western cultures, adding another beautiful street view while also infusing the area with a strong cultural atmosphere.

“Zhongshu Pavilion” is a two-story red European-style building, with its exterior covered in creeping vines, making it a beautiful and tranquil spot in Thames Town. The space on both floors is divided into completely different styles. Upon entering the bookstore, one can see neatly arranged literary works under transparent flooring, connected to bookshelves that stretch continuously, creating a powerful visual effect. The space also uses the design of the nine-grid layout inspired by China’s Hetu and Luoshu, making each grid feel like an independent study, where the world is built entirely out of books. On the second floor, there is a reading space dominated by pure white, paired with bookshelves on both sides that are designed with precisely calculated curved arcs, forming an egg-shaped reading area full of fantastical style. The top is adorned with mirrored decorations that reflect layer upon layer, creating the illusion of infinite space, making one feel as though they’ve fallen into a magical paradise of knowledge.
