Miaoli’s Big Lake is known as Taiwan’s Strawberry Kingdom. From November to April each year, it's the peak season for strawberry harvesting, with strawberry farms and sightseeing orchards everywhere. Visitors can enjoy the fun of picking their own strawberries and take freshly harvested ones home. Aside from strawberry picking in Big Lake, Miaoli offers other attractions worth visiting, making it ideal for a one-day tour itinerary.

1. Big Lake Winery & Strawberry Story Museum
At the Big Lake Winery, you can observe the winemaking process. Though the exterior of the winery has a classic vintage charm, its interior is highly modernized with mechanization. The warehouse is filled with oak barrels, displayed and categorized by different vintages and types.

The Strawberry Culture Museum is also a must-visit attraction. It has five floors: the first floor sells strawberry merchandise, souvenirs, and local agricultural products; the second and third floors feature exhibits on strawberry ecology, the history of strawberry culture in Big Lake, and ways to enjoy strawberries; the fourth and fifth floors house a restaurant and a sky garden where visitors can dine, enjoy tea and coffee, and take in the scenic landscape of Big Lake.

2. Shengxing Station
With a history of over 100 years, Shengxing Railway Station is the most rugged and scenically unique section of the Western Trunk Line. The entire station building is made of wood, featuring traditional Japanese tiger-teeth style wooden architecture believed to ward off evil and bring blessings. Many facilities inside the station date back to the Japanese colonial period. It has now become a popular spot for netizens to take photos and check in.
