In fact, Nantou — Taiwan’s only inland area not bordering the sea — boasts numerous stunning cherry blossom seas. As spring approaches and the cherry blossom season nears its end, you can still admire the pink and delicate cherry blossoms in Nantou. Why not seize the weekend opportunity to go cherry blossom viewing?
Nantou, Puli, Hakone Hot Spring Life House
The number of cherry blossom trees at Hakone Hot Spring Life House is truly remarkable in central Taiwan. The entire parking lot and areas around the hot spring resort are covered in cherry blossoms, with bloom coverage reaching over 90%. The resort management kindly allows visitors to enter the garden for free to enjoy the cherry blossoms, making it a highly worthwhile spot to visit. Most of the cherry blossoms here are double-petal pale pink cherry blossoms, also known as yaezakura, and their full bloom on the branches is truly beautiful.

Nantou, Zhushan, Shanlinxi Forest Ecological Resort
The Shanlinxi Forest Ecological Resort has approximately 1,500 cherry blossom trees planted throughout the area. From the entrance to the parking lots surrounding Shanlinxi Hotel, the surroundings are now entirely enveloped by pink cherry blossoms. The varieties in the resort include mountain cherry, pink Yoshino cherry, Wushe cherry, and Fuji cherry, with different species blooming vibrantly in nearly every corner. Aside from cherry blossoms, the park also features numerous tulip gardens for visitors to enjoy.

Nantou, Xinyi, Caopingtou Yu Shan Sightseeing Tea Garden
Caopingtou sits at an altitude of about 1,300 meters, with tea plantation areas totaling approximately 50 hectares producing oolong tea. The most famous feature of Caopingtou is its vast, gently undulating tea fields paired with magenta cherry blossoms, snow-white plum blossoms, and soft pink peach blossoms — creating a visual effect of a touch of pink and white amidst endless green. Thanks to its expansive grounds, walking through the garden feels peaceful and serene, offering the perfect atmosphere to quietly admire the once-in-a-lifetime beauty of the cherry blossoms.
