It's cherry blossom season, and about 60% of the Kaizu Cherry Blossom Avenue in the Sunshine Sports Park in Xindian, New Taipei City, have now bloomed. The pink cherry blossoms line both sides of the riverside path, attracting many visitors in recent days to take photos or stroll beneath the blossoms, soaking in the blissful atmosphere of the floral abundance.

The cherry blossoms planted in the Sunshine Sports Park in Xindian (from Sunshine Intersection Park to Xizhou Park) are Kaizu cherry trees from Itoshima’s Kaizu Town in Japan’s Izu Peninsula. They have large, pink blossoms and began blooming in mid-February, with the blooming period lasting until around mid-March. These blossoms not only add scenic beauty to the park but also make New Taipei City another great spot for cherry blossom viewing. What’s more, you can avoid the crowds of mountain and seaside destinations and enjoy the flowers in peace — making it one of the most convenient cherry blossom viewing spots.
