Early bird tickets for the 2016 Yilan Green Expo go on sale

Yilan’s premier spring event, the 17th Yilan Green Expo, is expected to begin with great fanfare at Wulaokeng Scenic Area on March 26. The 2016 edition, themed “Grain Heart,” aims to help Taiwan move past the storm of food safety crises in recent years by fostering a return to conscientious living, starting with our attitudes toward food. Early bird discounted tickets are now on sale. Just purchase them at convenience stores to enjoy a 20% discount. Additionally, as part of the 17th Green Expo promotion, ticket stubs with the last two digits “17” will come with a free multi-entry pass worth NT$300.

The 2016 Green Expo will be held from March 26 to May 15 at Wulaokeng Scenic Area. In light of the various food safety and consumer product scandals that have emerged in Taiwan in recent years, causing widespread public unease and distrust in the living environment, this year’s Yilan Green Expo is grounded in Yilan’s green values and sustainable spirit. Centered around the theme “Grain Heart,” the expo explores five key aspects: Earth Home, Nature Conservation, Rediscovering Grain Heart, Green Living, and Mountain Forest School. Through richly layered art installations and interactive experiences, visitors are guided from a broad perspective to a focused realization of the serious challenges facing the planet, and then toward discovering seeds of hope within nature.

As visitors explore the “Grain Heart Pavilion” and journey through the process from grain to food, they come to understand that everyone plays a vital role in the food system as part of a shared life community—leading to the discovery of the “grain heart” and awakening of conscience. Here, guests can learn about various ways to put green concepts into practice in daily life, and gain a fresh perspective on the natural environment. Each pavilion at the Yilan Green Expo is like a note in a melody, together creating a bright and enchanting symphony. This year’s Yilan Green Expo runs from March 26 to May 15. In addition to the carefully designed and engaging experiences in each pavilion, the organizers have also planned a diverse range of creative activities including photography, music, cooking, natural dyeing, and theater.
