Taiwan’s first pearl milk tea-themed cultural exhibition hall, “Qili Bay,” launched lightbulb milk tea, sparking a lot of buzz and prompting many tourists to rush to try it. Local eateries have also jumped on the trend, offering uniquely flavored lightbulb milk tea. Now you don’t have to travel all the way to Yilan to enjoy this fun drink.

● Yilan | Qili Bay Pearl Milk Tea Cultural Hall
Yilan’s “Qili Bay” Pearl Milk Tea Cultural Hall is Taiwan’s first cultural exhibition hall dedicated to bubble tea. Here, you can experience DIY bubble tea and guided tours, and the scenic wetlands nearby make it a great destination for weekend outings. The venue also offers meals, with a complimentary lightbulb pearl milk tea included in set meals, or you can order it separately for NT$88. Note that the lightbulb pearl milk tea requires advance phone reservation and is for dine-in only, not takeaway.

● Changhua | HolyDetox Healthy Natural Dining
Different from regular bubble tea, Changhua’s HolyDetox Healthy Natural Dining serves lightbulb milk tea made with brown sugar pearls and fresh milk—and you can even take the lightbulb glass jar home. Since its launch, it has attracted many customers, but due to high demand, orders are currently booked up through May. Those who want to collect the glass jars will have to wait a bit longer.

In addition to lightbulb milk tea, HolyDetox Healthy Natural Dining’s glass jar salads, juices, and the recently launched Uji Gyokuro drinks are also very popular. Next time you’re in Changhua, be sure to give them a try.
