With spring’s arrival, Japan is not only known for its cherry blossoms but also offers a great time to admire plum blossoms. The ‘Suzuka no Mori Garden’ in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, is home to many weeping plum trees. When they bloom, these flowers offer a striking contrast to the typically elegant and refined image of cherry blossoms – the weeping plum blossoms are especially vibrant in color, larger in size, and when in full bloom, they look just like fountains, displaying an impressively powerful presence.

The ‘Suzuka no Mori Garden’ in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, is usually used as a research and cultivation farm, and is only open to the public during the plum blossom season for visitors to come and admire the blooms. The garden mainly features the ‘Chrysanthemum Dama’ variety of plum blossoms, particularly the ‘TI Fuku Weeping Plum’, which is known for blooming early, having deep colors, and producing many large flowers. The large, brightly colored peachy-pink blossoms on their drooping branches are strikingly vibrant when in full bloom, offering a powerful visual impact and showcasing a unique side of plum blossoms.
