The popular mascot “Kumamon,” though mute, captures everyone’s attention with his hilarious antics. Recently, to promote Kyushu’s onsen tourism, Kumamon traveled to Aso Nekomanai Onsen to film a video titled “Kumamon’s Holiday,” where he’s seen soaking in the hot springs alongside local elderly locals—super adorable interactions abound.

 Kyushu’s Kumamoto Prefecture is home to 118 hot spring spots, making it a perfect destination for onsen lovers. In the video, Kumamon is about to soak in the hot springs when an old man gently taps his shoulder before he enters the water to remind him:“Before entering the bath, you should rinse your body first.”,“Also, be mindful not to splash others while rinsing.”,“After washing, make sure not to bring your towel into the bath.”Only after following all these rules does Kumamon finally get in the tub to enjoy the hot spring and the endless greenery of Aso.

After soaking, Kumamon heads toward the changing room, only to realize there's more to remember. The old man taps his shoulder again to remind him: “Before leaving the bathing area and going to the changing room, you must dry your body first.” Kumamon quickly cooperates with the old man to dry off before leisurely heading to the changing room to dry his hair.
