Taoyuan Airport MRT delays sixth time, aims for July opening

The High-Speed Rail Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications is currently conducting safety tests and pre-operational trials for the airport MRT system. After improvements in speed and safety measures are completed, the system will move on to simulated operational drills. At present, the Taipei Station (A1) of the airport MRT has been completed. A1 connects with the High-Speed Rail, Taiwan Railways, the Tamsui-Xinyi and Ban-Nan MRT lines, the Songshan Line, and intercity bus services, making it Taiwan’s most important transportation hub. Once operational, it will also serve as the national gateway for international travelers entering and exiting Taipei.

As Asia’s fourth airport MRT line, the Taoyuan Airport MRT will not only boost airport services but also greatly enhance convenience for tourists visiting Taiwan. It is also expected to bring positive development and impact to the Taoyuan area.
