The Flower Trial Center is located in the Yangmingshan area, with the main garden covering an area of over 4 hectares. Originally the Shanzihou Work Station of the Taiwan Provincial Agricultural Research Institute, it initially focused on researching fruit trees such as citrus. Due to the favorable local conditions for cultivating low-altitude temperate flowering plants, research and trials related to the collection, acclimatization, and cultivation techniques of camellias and azaleas began here in 1949. In 2003, the center opened to the public, displaying the long-term results of cultivation and research conducted in the park. Currently, the Flower Trial Center features themed areas including a camellia zone, herb garden, fragrant flower area, native azalea section, maple tree zone, coniferous tree area, Yoshino cherry section, fern and crabapple greenhouse, and succulent greenhouse, creating distinct themed spaces. There is also a camellia walking path paved with sleepers and pebbles, allowing visitors to leisurely stroll and enjoy the beauty of seasonal changes.
