Taiwanese tourists loving to visit Japan for ramen is nothing new, and among the most famous is Ichiran Ramen. The nearest place to Taiwan to enjoy it is at its Hong Kong branch, yet many fans have been eagerly hoping Ichiran Ramen will open an overseas branch in Taiwan. With many Japanese ramen brands already in Taiwan, the news of Ichiran Ramen’s expansion has once again sparked a buzz.

Ichiran Ramen’s first Taiwan outlet will be located in Taipei’s Yongkang Commercial District near Dongmen Station. The Yongkang area is one of the must-visit districts for international visitors to Taipei, and the choice of location takes advantage of its strong foot traffic and high tourist spending power. Ichiran Ramen was founded in 1993 in Kyushu and now has over 40 branches across Japan, with more on the way. Its ordering system and individual dining booth setup have drawn attention.
