Spanish is currently the second most spoken language in the world. Traveling to Spain is perfect for slowing down and enjoying a short cultural stay or a brief study trip. To meet the growing demand for Spanish tourism and study programs, STAGE Travel's Manager Rui Xinyi explains that current Spanish study programs generally focus on either language learning or pure tourism. Therefore, this time they have specially designed an in-depth cultural study tour at the University of Valladolid, catering to students who wish to learn while traveling slowly. The program also includes hands-on paella cooking experiences, allowing students to enjoy the local culture while studying abroad.

The University of Valladolid, along with the University of Salamanca, is one of Spain’s long-established and prestigious universities, founded in the 13th century. To date, the University of Valladolid has established 63 different departments offering specialized courses, covering subjects such as law, medicine, and history. It has four campuses, each focusing on major disciplines. All courses include extracurricular activities organized by the school, taking students to visit famous Spanish landmarks. Accommodation is arranged with host families, and the fees include two meals per day.

Most notably, on the final day of the course, a Spanish paella cooking class is arranged. A professional chef leads students to the market to explain and select ingredients together. They then return to the cooking classroom, where the chef demonstrates how to prepare Spanish Sangria fruit wine and the perfect cold tomato soup for summer, finally making the main dish—Spanish paella—allowing students to experience authentic local flavors. At the end of the three-week course, students will also receive a completion certificate from the University of Valladolid, serving as a meaningful souvenir and memento of their hard work and Spanish travel experience.
