The popular Kyoto matcha shop “Itoh Kyuemon,” which boasts a history of over 180 years, will open its first overseas directly operated store in Taipei in June. The official announcement revealed that this summer, Itoh Kyuemon from Uji, Kyoto, Japan, will operate its own tea house in Zhongshan District, Taipei, Taiwan.

Founded in 1832, Itoh Kyuemon specializes in matcha-related products and currently has three branches: the main store, Byodo-in Temple Store, and Kyoto Station Front Store. Its fourth branch, also the first overseas location, will open in Taipei in June. At that time, the popular product “Matcha Parfait” will also make its debut at the Taipei tea house. In addition, a unique menu created exclusively for Taiwan will be developed.
