Korean star Yeo Jin-goo endorses Taiwan tourism, sparking a trend of admiration for Taiwan

The Korean star, known for his roles in popular dramas such as "The Moon Embracing the Sun" and "Missing You," was invited by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications to serve as the image ambassador for Taiwan tourism. He also came to Taiwan to film a promotional video. The bureau hopes to leverage Yeo Jin-goo's popularity to attract Korean tourists of all ages to visit Taiwan and promote the rich cultural characteristics of Taiwan.

During his five-day visit to film the promotional video, Yeo Jin-goo visited tourist attractions such as Taroko Gorge, Qixingtan Beach, and Pingxi. He also enjoyed night market delicacies and mango shaved ice. Aside from taking in Taiwan’s scenic beauty and savoring its cuisine, he also experienced the warmth and friendliness of the Taiwanese people. The microfilm will also be featured on Korean websites, in media, and advertisements.

In recent years, the number of Korean tourists visiting Taiwan has repeatedly hit record highs. Coupled with the continued launch of new flight routes to South Korea, there is potential to further increase the number of Korean visitors. The Tourism Bureau is also promoting Taiwan’s tourism brand under the themes of food, culture, and a vibrant lifestyle, aiming to enhance Taiwan’s visibility and introduce the country to more South Koreans.
