Vanilla Air launches Taipei–Okinawa flights: early departures and late returns for a full day of fun

Vanilla Air announced that starting September 14, it will launch a new route between Taipei and Okinawa, currently scheduled for seven flights per week. Flights from Taipei will depart at 6:10 a.m. daily and arrive in Okinawa at 8:45 a.m., while return flights will depart Okinawa at 9:10 p.m. and arrive in Taipei at 9:45 p.m. Ticket sales officially began on the official website at 1 p.m. on May 26, with one-way fares starting from NT$1,688, though promotional details have yet to be confirmed.

Vanilla Air is a 100% subsidiary of Japan’s All Nippon Airways. Citing frequent exchanges between Taiwan and Japan, the airline has added the Taipei–Okinawa route. The timing—early departures and late returns—is favored by Taiwanese travelers, sparking enthusiasm among many who are ready to snap up tickets for a short trip over the weekend. It is rumored that Vanilla Air’s next new destination from Taiwan will be Thailand, a favorite vacation spot for many.
