Kyushu Tourism Revitalization Campaign Offers Travel Vouchers with Up to 70% Off Accommodation

Affected by the earthquake, the number of travelers visiting Kyushu, Japan, has dropped significantly, severely impacting the local tourism industry. In response, the Japanese government has invested 18 billion yen to launch the “Kyushu Tourism Support Voucher.” Starting June 1, as long as you book accommodation in seven areas of Kyushu through designated travel agencies such as Rakuten Travel, Jalan, and RuRuBu, you can receive a subsidy, with discounts of up to 70% available.

This subsidy targets the more severely affected Kumamoto and Oita prefectures, with an average 50% discount from July to September, and discounts of up to 70% available. Other regions also offer around 20% off. The initiative aims to actively revive Kyushu’s tourism industry during the peak summer travel season. The tourism subsidy program will continue until the end of this year, with the hope that revenue generated from tourism will help the affected regions of Kyushu recover as soon as possible.
