Not just plum blossoms—don’t miss the cherry and peach blooms too！ Nantou’s Xinyi Cherry Blossom Season features a sea of blossoms

As the plum blossom season in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, gradually comes to an end, many visitors who haven’t had the chance to admire the plum blossoms are feeling regretful. But Xinyi isn’t just about plum blossoms—various other flowers such as cherry and peach blossoms on Caopingtou are also starting to bloom one after another, creating a colorful sea of flowers set against lush green tea plantations—a breathtaking sight that flower enthusiasts shouldn’t miss.

The cherry blossom season in Xinyi Township will kick off on January 27 at Caopingtou Sightseeing and Leisure Farm. This location boasts beautiful scenery surrounded by mountain mist, with over 4,000 cherry trees planted along the path, including native Taiwan species like the Taiwan cherry and pink mountain cherry, among others. The pink floral rain drifts like mist, creating a truly romantic atmosphere.

Inside Caopingtou Sightseeing and Leisure Farm lies the Yushan Tea Plantation, spanning approximately 50 hectares. In addition to the beautiful scenery, the farm is covered with thousands of cherry, peach, and plum trees. When the flowers are in full bloom, the pink cherry petals scattered across the emerald-green terraced tea fields create a scene that is simply intoxicating. Visitors can not only take a leisurely stroll along the cherry blossom paths but also immerse themselves in the beautiful tea countryside and rich tea fragrance, experiencing the tranquil life of the rural area. They can enjoy the view of cherry and plum blossoms vying for beauty against the backdrop of the tea-covered hills—a perfect place to relax.

Additionally, to alleviate traffic congestion during the annual cherry blossom season, traffic control measures will be implemented during the Cherry Blossom Festival. Visitors coming to admire the flowers on holidays can park their vehicles in the open space near Ayi Bridge and take shuttle buses to and from Caopingtou. The shuttle service runs from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Tour buses may drop passengers off at the Caopingtou archway before returning and parking on the nearby road by Xintonglin Bridge in a one-way direction. To allow more people to enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms, a cleaning and maintenance fee of NT$50 per person will be charged during the Cherry Blossom Festival.
