Japanese popular souvenir YOKUMOKU celebrates its 5th anniversary in Taiwan with an evolution of love

Hailing from Japan’s premium biscuit and dessert brand YOKUMOKU, which has a 47-year history in Japan, its signature classic—the plain cigar biscuit—is absolutely a household name and has long been considered the top brand for souvenirs in Japan. To celebrate its 5th anniversary in Taiwan, YOKUMOKU has launched a brand-new “JOYFUL” series mixed gift box. Unlike previous packaging in tin or wooden boxes, this time it features an exquisitely textured paper box design paired with a festive red carrying bag. It aims not only to capture the younger market but also to win over the hearts of elders.

The birth of the JOYFUL gift box is meant to express the joy of weddings and celebrate beautiful life stages with premium taste. YOKUMOKU specially chose the moment of its 5th anniversary to launch a Taiwan-exclusive “JOYFUL Gift Box” targeting the wedding cake and full-moon celebration markets. Different from the brand’s signature understated blue tin box, it opts for a Japanese-Western style that is fresh and elegant. The outer box features a simple and elegant pearl-tone color scheme, showcasing the delicate texture and tactile feel of handcrafted packaging, complemented by the logo’s gleaming metallic sheen for a look that is both minimal and refined. To express YOKUMOKU’s sincerity and blessings, each gift box is hand-tied with either a golden-brown or crimson ribbon, presenting a graceful and artistic touch that aligns with the refined and tasteful elements within.

Introduced to Taiwan in 2011 by Fuhao Company, the brand’s exquisite products and heartfelt service have won widespread consumer affection. In April, its fifth store in Taiwan opened at Hanshin Department Store in Kaohsiung. Having cultivated the Taiwanese market for five years, YOKUMOKU initially only offered the classic cigar biscuits, but now its product line is quite comprehensive. Aside from the original plain cigar biscuits, double-layer chocolate slices and double-layer white chocolate slices are also bestsellers.
