Summer each year is the season when lavender blooms in Provence. Endless fields of lavender burst into bloom here, as if the earth has been covered with a romantic purple carpet — one of the most beautiful floral landscapes in the world. Provence is located in southern France and is the country’s largest lavender-growing region, as well as the world-famous home of lavender. Blooming gradually begins in mid-June each year and continues until early August harvest time. Around the villages, vast fields of lavender can be seen everywhere, filling the entire region with the enchanting fragrance of lavender and attracting many tourists and photography enthusiasts on a pilgrimage.
