Etihad among top global airlines in 2016 as EVA Air climbs rankings

The latest 2016 list of the world’s best airlines, released by SKYTRAX RESEARCH, known as the "Oscars of the aviation industry," saw Emirates take the top spot this year, while Taiwan’s EVA Air ranked 8th, improving by one place from 2015. China Airlines jumped from 52nd last year to 37th and was also awarded 10th place for best airport service. The title of world’s best low-cost carrier continues to be held by AirAsia.

In addition to ranking 8th in the world’s best airlines, EVA Air also won awards for Best Business Class Amenities (1st), Best Transpacific Route (1st), Best Airport Service (2nd), and Best Cabin Cleanliness (2nd). SKYTRAX also rated EVA Air as a five-star airline, making it the 8th airline worldwide and the first in Taiwan to receive this top honor in the aviation industry.
