Leopard Cat Mountain Gongweixu Tunnel, a Miaoli spring outing spot

The Gongweixu Tunnel in Miaoli is Taiwan's only railway wall-style tunnel. Completed in 1903, its exterior remains largely intact to this day. After train service ceased, the Miaoli City Government renovated the area and installed colorful lighting inside the tunnel, which shines brightly between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m., illuminating both the tunnel and the historical traces of the past.

Leopard Cat Mountain Park near the Gongweixu Tunnel is a natural urban forest park and a popular spot for locals to go on spring outings during holidays. The park covers a vast area, and hikers can enjoy views of Miaoli City as they walk up the mountain trail to the summit. Behind the park lies the third-grade historic site, the Lai Family Chastity Archway.
