Typhoon Omais, No. 5, has formed — travelers heading abroad, please stay alert

This year’s fifth mild typhoon, Omais, formed on the afternoon of August 4, about 2,800 kilometers from Taiwan. Its projected path is moving north toward the eastern waters off Japan. While it will not directly affect Taiwan’s weather, its impact on Japan remains to be seen. Travelers planning a trip to Japan in the near future should keep an eye on its latest developments.

Currently, Typhoon Omais is moving at a speed of 16 km/h, shifting from north-northwest to north. It will not directly impact Taiwan, but due to the influence of the Pacific high-pressure system, high temperatures and heat continue across Taiwan, with the northern regions possibly exceeding 36°C.
