Pokémon GO is so popular that 13 attractions have banned gameplay

In addition, Iran is the first country in the world to ban Pokémon GO, citing safety concerns. Since the launch of Pokémon GO in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and other regions, it has led to massive downloads and widespread discussion, with more and more restricted areas being announced. Aside from military camps and key defense zones where gameplay is not allowed, highways, as well as platforms, station areas, level crossings, and train tracks of the Taiwan Railways Administration and Taiwan High Speed Rail, also prohibit gameplay for safety reasons. New Taipei City’s Cultural Affairs Bureau has also fully published notices banning Pokémon GO at its affiliated institutions to preserve the experience and environment of historical sites and public spaces. The banned attractions are as follows:
