New Hot Spring Experience Alert: Jiaoxi Launches Taiwan’s First “Bubble Onsen Cabin” – Available Only Until Mid-April

There's a new way to enjoy hot springs in Jiaoxi now – a local operator has launched Taiwan’s first and only “bubble onsen cabin,” allowing visitors to soak in warmth and wellness while surrounded by a bubble dome, from now until mid-April.

Honey Realm Bubble Onsen Cabin owner Lin Yu-liang said that bubble domes have been popular overseas for many years, mainly used for camping. While visiting one, he got the idea that soaking in a hot spring inside a bubble dome would be a fun experience, so he specially imported seven bubble domes from abroad, creating Taiwan’s first “bubble onsen cabin.”

The bubble onsen cabin is divided into two areas. Unzip the entrance flap, and you’ll find a small foyer with slippers and chairs where guests can change clothes and take off their shoes. Lin Yu-liang reminds guests to zip up the entrance door from the inside before unzipping the second flap that leads to the hot spring pool.

The main soaking space includes an inflatable hot tub and air mattresses for guests to relax after their soak. Since the bubble cabins are located near residential areas, only the roof is transparent. However, visiting at night offers a unique ambiance as you soak under the starry sky.

Lin Yu-liang said that because the interior environment of the bubble domes is not ideal for summer, the bubble onsen cabins will only be open until mid-April. In the future, the plan is to repurpose the site into “container onsen cabins,” allowing guests to both soak and rest.
