Taiwan Railways Mid-Autumn Holiday Ticket Booking Info – Expanded Real-Name System Service for Eastern and Western Taiwan

Specifically for Eastern Taiwan transport needs, from September 15 to 18, an additional 18 scheduled express regional trains between Shulin and Luodong will be added, offering a discounted fare of NT$100. On September 14, 15, and 18, 6 real-name system trains and 8 special Tzu-Chiang Limited Express trains for returning home will be added on the Eastern Line. For the real-name system trains, online ticket booking via ID numbers U and V as well as for residents registered in Eastern Taiwan before August 1, 2016, will open at 6 a.m. on September 7. Booking details for the returning home special trains will be announced separately by local governments.
Tickets for the Mid-Autumn holiday period will be available for booking online and by phone starting at midnight on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, and can be reserved up to September 19. Information on additional train services and schedules has been posted on the Taiwan Railways website and at station timetables since August 19.
