The Opening of the Zhongtai World Museum Showcases Rare and Stunning Buddhist Relics

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of Zhongtai Temple, the 15th anniversary of its completion and inauguration, as well as the completion of the Zhongtai World Museum. A grand ribbon-cutting ceremony for the museum was held on August 13 and 14, with over 20,000 people witnessing the 25 years of Zhongtai’s widespread teachings.

Construction of the Zhongtai World Museum officially began in August 2013, following three years of planning and building, and was completed and opened to the public on August 13, 2016. The museum complex spans over nine hectares, featuring an extensive exhibition area divided into 18 galleries (including 2 special exhibition rooms). The Wooden Sculpture Pavilion (formerly the Zhongtai Mountain Museum), located about 800 meters from the main museum within the Zhongtai Temple complex, is a themed exhibition hall showcasing wooden Buddha statues through the ages and is an exceptionally captivating special pavilion worth visiting.

The Zhongtai World Museum and the Wooden Sculpture Pavilion officially opened to the public on August 15. To promote Buddhist art, free admission is offered during the first month of opening. This initiative aims to enrich the spiritual lives of the public through the beauty of Buddhist art, fulfilling the museum’s founding mission of artistic expression of Buddhist teachings.
