Taiwan’s first children’s supercar driving practice area – a great parent-child destination

New Taipei City’s riverside park has gained a new family-friendly recreational spot—Up ! To provide the public with a unique leisure environment and more diverse recreational facilities, the New Taipei City Government has set up the nation’s first children’s go-kart (electric kids' car) practice track in the riverside park next to the Xiu-long Bridge in Zhonghe District. This facility aims to foster parent-child interaction, and citizens are welcome to bring their little ones to “race” and have fun in the park.

In recent years, remotely controllable and cool-looking children’s supercars have grown increasingly popular. However, driving them on urban sidewalks or greenbelts in city parks often leads to safety and management issues. In response, the New Taipei City Government has repurposed an existing parking lot area next to the Xiu-long Bridge in Zhonghe District. After reconfiguring the ground surface, it has been transformed into a children’s electric car playground, offering residents a safer and more diverse environment for kids to enjoy electric ride-on vehicles.

This practice track is located next to the Xiu-long Bridge in Zhonghe District and is open to the public starting today. Visitors can enter the riverside parking lot via the floodwall access paths around the Xiu-long Bridge, then walk about1minutes toward the Xiu-long Bridge to reach the site. The venue is divided into two major themed areas: the racetrack zone replicates a real racing circuit, featuring a starting area and curved tracks where children can experience the thrill of real racing; meanwhile, the car driving practice zone mimics the test items from actual driver’s license road tests, with ground markings for reverse parking, roadside parking, andSfigure-eight curves. Parents can guide their children from the sidelines, giving kids an early taste of driving tests and creating opportunities for parent-child bonding.
