Taoyuan Airport MRT trial run: “Open first, improve later” aims for year-end launch

Trial ride participants included Minister of Transportation and Communications Hochen Tan, Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan, along with the proposal and consensus of “open first, improve later.” After two months of intensive testing, the Taoyuan Airport MRT review team has examined each of the over 4,000 improvement points previously submitted by the Taoyuan Rapid Transit Corporation. Whether the opening speed and service frequency meet standards, and factors such as ride stability are also being evaluated.
The trial route includes Taipei Main Station (A1) to Taoyuan Airport Terminal 2 (A13). The non-stop ride takes only 37 minutes, but there's still a slight gap from the 35 minutes (later adjusted to 36.5 minutes) stipulated in the construction contract. Considering that the trial route extended to A13, a slight deviation is understandable.
