Hsinchu’s Dreamlike "Jimmy Liao Square" Features a Sky-Blue Mural Wall That Feels Like Stepping Into a Dream

Not to be outshined by Yilan’s Jimmy Liao-themed train station, Hsinchu now has its own "Jimmy Liao Dream World," transporting visitors into a storybook-like fantasy. Inspired by *The Butterfly and the Little Wind*, Hsinchu Crystal Plaza has created two Jimmy Liao-themed art installations and mural walls within its premises. The dreamy, childlike designs have attracted many travelers to visit and take photos, making it a new hotspot for Instagram-worthy moments.
The Jimmy Liao art installations and murals at Hsinchu Crystal Plaza mark the first time the artist has presented his work in the form of a comic strip. In *The Butterfly and the Little Wind*, the butterfly is always full of energy, living fearlessly in her own world, while the little wind enjoys contemplation in his slightly melancholic realm. Their conversations and whimsical imaginations build a lovely, absurd, yet philosophical world that brings warmth and joy to audiences of all ages.

Located in the outdoor plaza on the first floor, the "Planet Dream Garden" features a full-wall mural of blue skies and white clouds, along with an artistic installation on the water pond consisting of silver planets, little butterflies, and the little wind. The expansive blue sky and cloud mural tells a charming story: every morning, the butterfly and the little wind pretend to be strangers as they pass by the pond. They believe that even if they are separated in various dreams, they will always meet again upon turning around, ready to embark on new adventures.

The spinning silver planets above the pond represent the whimsical fantasies within dreams, while the opposite wall features their good companions flying alongside them. As long as you keep imagining, you can create colorful and magical dreams in the routines of urban life.

On the twelfth floor, the "Forest’s Happy Glimmer" is vibrant and full of childlike charm. One afternoon, the butterfly had a very, very long dream… In the dream, a gentle breeze was blowing, the forest was glowing, and the butterfly and the yellow bunny were soaring through the air. Meanwhile, the little wind finally summoned the courage to take his first step toward flying. They believed that when they soared, the feeling of happiness would arrive; they believed that in the moment they opened their arms together, the wind would carry them away, chasing their dreams.
