The Lion King and Up Enter the Room: Hong Kong Disneyland’s New Hotel Opens on April 30

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort’s third hotel, “Disney Explorers Lodge,” will officially open on April 30. Themed around exploration, the seven-story hotel features four uniquely designed themed gardens inspired by the animated films Up, Finding Nemo, The Jungle Book, and The Lion King. Guests can immerse themselves in the distinctive landscapes of Asia, South America, Africa, or Oceania.

The design motto of Disney Explorers Lodge is the Latin phrase “ad explorare et somniare.” The overall concept centers around inspiring guests to explore bravely and pursue their dreams. The hotel’s four themed gardens are named after characters from Disney and Pixar animated films. These include the “Colibri Garden,” themed around the South American scenery in Up; the “Turtle Talk Garden,” showcasing the relaxed vibes of Oceania from Finding Nemo; the “Jungle Navigation Company Ltd. Garden,” featuring the natural beauty of Asia from The Jungle Book; and the “Rafiki’s Planet Watch Garden,” highlighting the African savannah elements from The Lion King.

The new hotel offers three themed restaurants: the Chinese restaurant “Mandarin Garden,” the international cuisine restaurant “Explorer’s Club,” and the café “Starliner Diner.” At Mandarin Garden, guests can enjoy traditional Cantonese dishes and other Chinese specialties, while Explorer’s Club features global cuisine that blends exotic spices and cooking techniques. Starliner Diner serves premium coffee as well as European-style breakfast, salads, sandwiches, pasta, and various light meals.

The new hotel provides 750 rooms. With the addition of the other two hotels after the opening, the total number of rooms in the resort will increase to 1,750. Room rates start from HK$2,200 (approximately NT$8,700), excluding service charges.
