Japan’s new “Sushi University” itinerary teaches travelers how to eat authentic sushi and order properly

There are many sushi restaurants in Japan, but having a lot of options doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get high-quality food. Especially with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics approaching and tens of thousands of visitors flooding into Japan for the games and tourism, fortunately, a travel company has launched“Sushi University”itinerary to teach travelers how to eat authentic sushi and place orders.

According to Lonely Planet,Tabimori Travel Company came up with this plan to help reduce language barriers for travelers. In addition to learning about sushi, participants will be taken to restaurants where interpreters will actually teach them how to enjoy authentic Japanese sushi.

The service is mainly available in Tokyo. The travel agency will arrange for someone to pick up travelers from their hotel and take them to the restaurant. Guests can sit at the counter and watch the chefs work as the sushi masters prepare the sushi with real-time interpretation. Besides learning about sushi, dining etiquette will also be introduced.

With the Olympics approaching, more and more traveler guidance services are being launched. Travelers planning to visit Japan around that time should keep an eye out for these options.
