A Library as Beautiful as Tsutaya—Taoyuan Longgang Branch, Among Taiwan’s Most Scenic Libraries

This beautiful library was designed by the architectural firm CTLU Architect & Associates (卢俊廷建筑师事务所). The eight-meter-high entrance hall, paired with wooden materials, continues the greenery theme, achieving a visual harmony between old trees and the environment.

The Longgang Branch is located next to Taoyuan’s Taiwan Trade Park. In addition to preserving existing trees around the building, solar panels have been installed on the roof to promote eco-friendly energy use and electricity savings. It has also earned a Gold-level Green Building certification.

The building has four floors above ground and two below, offering a total of 265 seats and covering 1,940 ping. The architects designed the exterior with the philosophy that “every library has bookshelves; among the vast collection, pick a book, and every book holds a rich world.” The side features floor-to-ceiling windows adorned with 45 panel designs shaped like books. When opened, they resemble pages turning in a book—an architectural gem where concept meets reality, filled with design flair.
