This year’s mascot PK battle is divided into the “Corporate Warriors Group” and the “Model Public Servants Group.” Each group will select three of the most distinctive mascots, plus one mascot that best represents the character of Kaohsiung. The awards ceremony will be held on October 16 at the Fengshan Administrative Center of the city government. Participating teams include familiar faces such as the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau’s “Kaohsiung Bear” and the Kaohsiung MRT’s “U-Fu & Habby,” as well as city mascots traveling from north to south, including Taipei Universiade’s “Bravo Bear,” Taoyuan’s “Ya Tao & Yuan Ge,” Hsinchu’s “Pipi Lion,” and adorable mascots from corporations such as Dream Mall, E-DA, ASE, and Nantou Monster Village.

The Universiade video titled “Go Go Bravo Taiwan Has You Bravo Bear,” released on September 23, was accused of plagiarizing a music video by the Japanese dance group World Order. The video has been urgently removed, but the mascot PK competition is still in full swing. From now until 12:00 PM on October 4, vote for your favorite mascot on the event website for a chance to win prizes such as iPhones, ASUS phones, and power banks.

Over 50 mascots gather to compete for popularity. On October 1, the mascot parade will take place from 5:00 PM at City Light Gallery to the Kaohsiung Harbor Archway. Those who want to see Taiwan’s popular mascots all in one go can experience the festive and lively atmosphere through this event.
