Taiwan’s dessert market is worth as much as NT$5 billion. BAKE cheese tarts, hugely popular in Japan and also achieving outstanding sales performance in Taiwan—with reportedly one sold every two seconds—opened their first store in Taiwan in mid-June 2016 at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi’s Nishi branch in Taipei. On October 5, they expanded to southern Taiwan, opening their second store overall and their first in the south at the highly competitive food court of Kaohsiung Hanshin Dome Department Store.
